It's "Municipale Balcanica" the first italian band included in an international compilation of Gipsy and Balkan ethnic music. The group from Apulia has been chosen for the new, second volume of Gypsy Beats & Balkan Bangers. The first release of the compilation, last year, had a breakthrough success and it was the absolute revelation of the BBC RADIO 1 broadcastings, and the sound of Gypsy Beats & Balkan Bangers spread throughout Europe. And the world even discovered the sound of gipsies, and began to dance to the funny, strong rythms of Eastern Europe, that's why at the moment Folk dancing and spontaneous large circles are breaking out in clubs from Berlin to Canada, Sydney to Switzerland, New York to London and beyond.
The surprising Municipale Balcanica not only joined the "party" but really promoted it! The Italian band mixed the peculiar sounds of its roots with the melodies of the nearest Balkan nations. With this aptitude they recorded the most famous and "over-sung" traditional Yiddish song "Hava nagila", bringing it to a new life in an original and powerful version that's become one of avant-guarde masterpieces of the Gypsy Beats & Balkan Bangers Too compilation. So Municipale Balcanica keeps on touring Italy and Europe, with their crazy, funny and complete show, and their concerts (more 250 in less than 4 years...) not only raise enthusiastiasm but also spread the deep message of meeting between different cultures.

E' la "Municipale Balcanica" il primo gruppo italiano scelto per una compilation internazionale di musica Zigana e Balcanica. La band pugliese è entrata nella nuova edizione della compilation Gypsy Beats & Balkan Bangers. Il Primo volume di questa selezione era già stato l'autentico caso radiofonico della britannica BBC RADIO nel 2006 con un immenso successo di vendite e programmazione per quello che pareva un genere marginale della scena folk. Ma le sonorità Balcaniche hanno conquistato il pubblico Europeo grazie alla loro immediatezza e vivacità, divenendo la colonna sonora ideale dei momenti di festa più divertenti sia nelle iniziative di piazza anche nei club più esclusivi e di tendenza d' Europa. I musicisti della Municipale Balcanica hanno unito i suoni delle proprie radici di Italiani del sud alle melodie e ai ritmi dei vicinissimi Balcani e dell'est Europa, così anche la più famosa canzone Yiddish del mondo, Hava Nagila, è diventata nella loro originale e potente versione un brano NUOVO, che ha meritato di essere incluso in una compilation di avanguardia. L'inclusione in Gypsy Beats & Balkan Bangers Too per la Municipale Balcanica è un importantissimo riscontro dopo il successo del loro tour anche delle tappe all'estero.  Con 250 concerti in quattro anni d'attività, grazie al loro pirotecnico spettacolo, hanno materialmente seminato e diffuso la cultura dell'incontro musicale tra sonorità italiane e balcaniche.
